The Great American Granola Exchange
Sign up to give, get and spread some love, one batch at a time.
Years ago, my friend Mina Stone and I had a dream: a granola exchange for people who love to cook and are too particular to mess with store-bought granola. We never fully realized the chain— we just ended up sending granola back and forth across the country. But the feeling of receiving that homemade package stuck with me.
I believe in the healing power of a thoughtful care package. Maybe you don’t need one right now, but I’m not ashamed to admit that I sure as hell do.
So, I’m organizing a Great American Granola Exchange, and I’d love for you to come on board. The best part? You don’t need to be a pro to join—just someone who loves to bake and share.
How It Works:
Sign up and share your dietary preferences and mailing address.
We will match you with another participant.
Make granola, send a care package.
Check your mailbox with giddy anticipation until your package arrives.
Matches are random, so you could receive a package from any one of the accomplished participants like Natasha Picowicz, Alex Raij, Tamar Adler, Substack star Emily Sundberg, Editor of the New York Times Style Section, Stella Bugbee, or New York Times Cooking Editor, Alexa Weibel.
Along the way, I’d love to see your recipes, stories, baking tips, and photos—I’ll be sharing them to recruit more granola makers, so DM me through my Instagram.
While it feels like the world has moved on, our L.A. community is still grieving. Won’t you volunteer to send a batch of your granola to someone affected by the L.A. wildfires? Check the box at the very bottom of the google form when you sign up to participate in the exchange.
Know someone who needs some extra love? Share the flyer below, and be sure to include the link for them to enter their info to receive granola from a generous baker.
This is extremely exciting, fun and nourishing!
LOVE. I am so excited to be a part of this. Thank you for organizing Julia and Mina!!
